In order for them to realize that, they must first understand the cause of their disorder and let them discover how to deal with it. One of the primary contributory factors of OCD is stress. OCD stress can be very bothersome, and if left unattended, may develop into a much worse stage of obsessive compulsive disorder. but before taking any actions on it, one must first know what are the right and wrong ways to deal with it. Otherwise, if they commit the wrong actions, their efforts would go in vain or worse.
The best ways to deal with OCD stress:
1. Proper Sleep
Rest is king when combating anxiety disorder and stress, ultimately obsessive compulsive disorder. A person with sufficient rest is a mentally sound person, free from stress and anxiety. It would be highly recommended that a person undergoing OCD stress should at least rest for at least 6 hours a day.
2. Frequent or Regular Exercise
Exercise does not only render the body physically fit, it incapacitates the mind as well to perform its functions effectively. Good exercise ensures proper blood circulation and oxygen distribution in the body. Making sure that it gets to where it is needed, and the brain is one things the needs it a lot. If the brain can process well, it reduces the risk of stress. Make it a habit to perform exercises, aerobic or what not at least 30 minutes to an hour a day.
3. Social or Peer Support
Having a good group of people to hang out with will greatly help in reducing stress as it prevents any feelings of isolation. A supportive family may serve as a distraction from the OCD symptoms that might develop.
4. Follow Treatment Guidelines
A progressive proactive dealing with obsessive compulsive disorder will help a long way in combating OCD stress, OCD itself for good. This means that instead of putting things aside until they become worst, you have to face your fears every day. Stick to your treatment guidelines to the last minute until you have finally gotten rid of your obsessions and compulsions for good.
Bad ways to Deal with OCD
1. Alcoholism
Drowning oneself with alcohol is never a great idea. All the more it worsens things as it could immerse the patient into a more hopeless state.

Is never a good idea. The more you isolate yourself, the more you would feel alone and deserted. You would eventually develop stress out of it, even something worse.
