How to Deal With Guilt

Guilt of past wrong doings can be consuming, eating at us on a day-to-day basis. Perhaps it's a sin no one else knows of and it has been a secret for so many years. The turmoil over your wrong doing makes living life terribly difficult. You are continually reminded of it and you know one day it’ll come to the light. What takes place when my better half finds I had a relationship with her best friend. She will hate me, file for divorce and take the youngsters.

Not one of us would love to be in his shoes, yet each of us face some degree of guilt in our life and it eats away at us. Perhaps you are able to say, my sin isn’t as unpleasant as his. That may make you feel a little better but God truly hates all sins. How much does He hate my little sin? God hates our sin and it separates us from Him. After Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden our relationship with God was destroyed. In the Old testament time there had been the sacrifice of animals for the leniency of our sin.

God then sent His Son to die for your sins. Would you send your youngster to die for someone’s sin? I may give my life though not the life of my girls. But God gave the life of His Son for you.

It does not matter the size of your sin it's still against God and eventually the weight of your guilt will destroy your life and you will not have a liaison with God. To get rid of the guilt in your life first ask God for leniency of the sin and then repent from the wrong. Praise God for His Son and then give Him your guilt. If God is not going to remember your sin why should you hold on to it?
