Cure Panic Attacks – Mind And Body Work Together

I have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for several years and everything I was doing was actually making my anxiety worse. If you focus your attention on the attack or hope that you don’t get another attack more attacks are sure to come. There are several ways to cure panic attacks and regain control of your life. This is what worked for me and thousands of other people.

Breathing, meditation, stretching, yoga are excellent techniques, BUT they work on the basis of already being calm. If your in the middle of a panic attack the last thing on your mind is a downward dog. Your most likely trying not to end up in the emergency room. So what are you suppose to do during an anxiety attack to make sure they don’t return to run your life?

Get ready to hear something you probably never heard before. Embrace your fear, don’t fight it. This change in attitude is the best solution to stop panic attacks. Ok easier said than done.

Pilots and emergency doctors are a great example. They work in stressful situations that have to make split second decisions that have other peoples life’s at stake. How do they keep themselves calm during these intense moments. They have been highly trained on how to take orders from their brains. In fact they talk themselves through the situation by speaking a loud so that their brain can communicate with their body’s and remain calm in order to complete the tasks needed to be done.

Picture yourself for a moment. You have absolutely no training for stressful situations. Your body and mind have not been taught to communicate together. There are parts of your brain that are not hard wired together so you have to learn how to speak to your mind. Durning panic attacks instead of talking to yourself you probably feel dizzy, your heart pounds, its hard to breathe, you may feel like your losing control. Lets learn how to command your brain to control your body.

Let me let you in on a little secret that has helped thousands of people control their anxiety. The best thing to do during an anxiety attack is, nothing. Instead of focusing on the panic attack what you need to do is detach yourself from the anxiety. First you want to personalize the episode by speaking out loud to it. Then you want to detach yourself from the feeling and then ask the feeling to increase. By pulling the feeling out into the open you are able to label the panic and help the fear by withdrawing. For example when your hear beats fast, say “come on heart beat even faster”.

Warning! This takes practice. You must have trust in the system and trust in yourself. For more ways to stop panic attacks I still do yoga and stretching workouts to help maintain a well balance between mind and body for stress relief, but I do these during cool moments and not during an attack. I have used this technique to keep my fears and worries from becoming full blown anxiety attacks.
